About this Project
The Problem
In Brazil, land degradation from overuse and unsustainable cattle farming practices contributes to large-scale eco-system degradation and biodiversity loss. This not only diminishes the land's natural capabilities for carbon sequestration but also erodes the habitat for local wildlife and damages the ecological balance.
The Solution
The Fazenda São Paulo Afforestation Project aims to transform these degraded lands through reforestation, enhancing carbon sequestration and fostering biodiversity. By converting low-productivity cattle ranches into thriving forested areas, the project not only combats climate change but also provides a habitat for numerous species and employment opportunities for local communities, driving environmental, social, and economic benefits.
